About MISEN
MISEN is building a trusted technology ecosystem where people, teams, and businesses can reach more of their potential through practical software, thoughtful automation, and responsible AI.
Our mission is to create technology that works at the intersection of business and humanity: systems that reduce friction, improve decision-making, and help teams operate with more clarity, speed, and confidence.
About the Integration Team
The backend integration team builds the layer of systems that quietly connect, sync, validate, retry, alert, and recover. We work with external APIs, business systems, internal workflows, and operational tools where reliability matters.
When integrations work well, teams move faster. When they fail, everyone feels it. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys making messy vendor APIs predictable, building resilient backend systems, and creating tools that help teams debug and operate with confidence.
Core Ownership Areas
- Third-party APIs, OAuth, API keys, webhooks, and event ingestion.
- Data sync jobs, retries, idempotency, rate-limit handling, and integration health checks.
- Internal tooling for setup, debugging, backfills, replay, and support workflows.
- Logs, alerts, dashboards, and operational visibility for integration reliability.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain third-party API integrations, webhooks, and data sync jobs.
- Design resilient systems with retries, idempotency, payload validation, logs, and alerts.
- Handle vendor edge cases, API documentation gaps, and production debugging.
- Partner with product and operations teams to translate workflows into backend systems.
Representative Problems
- A vendor webhook sends duplicate events, late events, and malformed payloads. Design the ingestion path.
- An API has strict rate limits and partial failures. Build a sync job that remains correct and observable.
- A support team needs to understand why a customer's data is stale. Build the internal debugging view.
You May Be a Good Fit If You
- Have 4+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Are strong in Node.js/TypeScript or Python.
- Have worked with REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, SQL databases, queues, and scheduled jobs.
- Are good at debugging vendor API behavior and making pragmatic trade-offs.
- Care about reliability, observability, and data consistency.
Strong candidates may also have
- Experience with Shopify, Google APIs, Meta APIs, TikTok, Amazon, CRM, analytics, finance tools, marketing tools, or other integration-heavy platforms.
- Experience building backfills, replay tools, alerting, dashboards, or internal debugging workflows.
Candidates need not have
- Experience with every vendor API we may integrate with.
- A formal AI research background.
- A perfectly linear career path.

Share enough context for us to understand your backend ownership, integration judgment, and production debugging experience. Specific examples are more useful than a generic cover letter.
After you apply: We review applications on a rolling basis. If there is a strong match, we will contact you for an intro call, followed by a backend/integration deep dive and a practical systems discussion.
